IRCC’s Category-Based Express Entry Draw for STEM Occupations
Under the new Express Entry category-based selection process, IRCC has extended invitations to 500 healthcare professionals. To qualify, candidates needed a score of 486 on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
Since the six new categories were revealed on May 31, this is the second category-based selection draw of the month. It was anticipated that on July 5, some 1,500 additional healthcare applicants will be invited to submit their applications. Moreover, it was also expected to see an influx of qualified applicants in Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) occupations during the same week.
With a minimum CRS score of 476, 500 healthcare workers were invited in the most recent category-based draw, which took place last week on June 28. IRCC also invited 700 candidates in an all-program draw with a minimum CRS score of 511 in its surprise draw on July 4. Candidates for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program who have submitted Express Entry are taken into account in an all-program draw.
