Quebec Held a New RSWP Draw, Invited 1,218 Candidates
Recently, the Ministry of Immigration, Francization, and Integration (MIFI) held a fresh draw under the Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP). The province in its ninth RSWP draw, invited candidates with a legitimate academic and employment experience in an in-demand job occupation.
Highlights of the Draw – Who was Invited?
A total of 1,218 skilled people received invitations to apply for permanent selection in the ninth RSWP draw. In the draw, potential candidates are required to have at least 584 points on their profiles in the Arrima Expression of Interest (EOI) system. In addition, they had an in-demand employment offer from a location outside the Montréal Metropolitan Area.
Under section 45 of the Quebec Immigration Act, decisions to invite candidates to make an application for permanent selection were determined based on invitation criteria.
The following eligibility requirements were completed by these candidates who received invitations in the most recent Quebec draw:
Category 1
- According to the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français des personnes immigrantes adultes (Québec scale of French proficiency levels for adult immigrants) or its equivalent, they had oral French proficiency at level 7 or higher.
- They obtained a score of 584 points or more.
- They had a legitimate job offer from a location outside the Montréal Metropolitan Community.
Category 2
- They met the requirements for level 7 (or above) oral competence on the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français des personnes immigrantes adultes (Québec scale of French proficiency levels for adult immigrants) or a comparable scale.
- They received 592 points or more in their score.
- They were in possession of a legitimate job offer from an area outside the Montréal Metropolitan Community.
Only those who claim to have level 7 oral proficiency (or higher) in French according to the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français des personnes immigrantes adultes may be invited to submit an application for permanent selection.
The Montréal Metropolitan Community (MMC) makes an exception for those who have a genuine work offer outside of its borders. These individuals might, in the short term, be requested to make an application for permanent selection without disclosing their level of French proficiency.
