How Does Quebec Expression of Interest Work?
- Submission of Expression of Interest Profile: Candidates submit their profiles online via Arrima.
- Ranking in the Expression of Interest Pool: Profiles are ranked against each other based on a points system and remain valid for 12 months.
- Invitation to Apply: The highest-ranking candidates are invited to apply for a Quebec Certificate of Selection (CSQ) under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program through periodic draws.
- Application Submission: Candidates receiving an invitation have 60 days to submit a complete application.
- Permanent Residence Application: Approved candidates with a CSQ can then apply to the federal government for Canadian permanent residence.
Quebec Expression of Interest Points System
The points system used to rank profiles submitted via Arrima considers various factors related to human capital and the Quebec labor market. Candidates and their spouses or common-law partners can score up to 1,320 points based on factors such as language ability, age, work experience, education, and more.
Requirements for Quebec Expression of Interest
The Quebec Expression of Interest system assesses candidates based on two categories: human capital factors and Quebec labor market factors. Points are awarded for factors such as French language ability, work experience in Quebec, job offers inside or outside Greater Montreal, and qualifications in Quebec’s areas of training.
