In a previous draw on February 1, 2024, the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a category-based targeted draw, issuing 7,000 ITAs for French-speaking individuals (CRS score of 365 or above).

Targeted Draws and Canada’s Immigration Vision
In May 2023, IRCC signaled its commitment to conducting invitation rounds that specifically target individuals with in-demand skills. Effective January 30, 2024, IRCC expanded language testing options for Express Entry candidates by accepting the Pearson Test of English Core (PTE) for all immigration streams except the Student Direct Stream. This adds to the flexibility for candidates, who can also opt for the CELPIP General or IELTS General Training to demonstrate their English language proficiency.
