Canada aims to welcome over 500,000 new permanent residents by the end of 2025. Out of which, the country’s economic class immigration category will invite 82,880 newcomers in 2023 and up to 114,000 by 2025.
There are many pathways to immigrate to Canada in 2023. However, the blog will take you through the most popular immigration route in Canada. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) divide immigration into three categories: Economic class, Family class, and Refugees. So far, the most popular route is economic-class immigration. To qualify for permanent residency under this pathway, immigrants need to stand eligible for their work experience, education, and other economic factors.
Express Entry – The Easiest Way to Immigrate to Canada in 2023
Express Entry is the fastest and most popular program for immigrants in Canada. Candidates that apply under this system can receive their permanent residency status as soon as six months later. Canada’s Express Entry management system manages three federal streams;
• Canadian Experience Class (CEC);
• Federal Skilled Worker (FSW);
• Federal Skilled Trades (FST)
How Does It Work?
In Express Entry, applicants submit an online profile that is scored by the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The CRS, a point-based system will score the candidates on the basis;
• Age
• CLB Language proficiency (English and French)
• Level of Education
• Work Experience
• Provincial Nomination achieved
• Siblings living in Canada as permanent residents/citizens
• Spouse profile
After evaluation, you need to submit an Express Entry profile. However, you must first qualify for one of Canada’s above three federal streams. The Canadian government then invites the top candidates in the Express Entry pool to apply for permanent residence.
Once you receive an ITA, you will need to accept this invitation to attain permanent residency in Canada. In addition, to complete your PR application, you will need to submit the requested documents within 60 days.

Express Entry Changes in 2023!
According to Canada Express Entry news, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced its intention to begin conducting targeted Express Entry draws in 2023 to address the nation’s specific labour shortages. In these Express Entry draws, candidates will be targeted based on their occupation, language, and education to find those who will best contribute to Canada’s growth and prosperity.
In 2023, the Express Entry system will move away from focusing on CRS scores and conduct draws that allow Canada to better address specific areas of labour market need and weakness. These targeted draws aim to strengthen Canada’s labour market and hopefully increase retention rates among those who settle in specific communities.
