Highlights of the Draw: Who was Invited?
In the draw, Prince Edward Island (PEI) issued 90 invitations to the candidates of the Labour and Express Entry stream. However, so far, the province issued a total of 2,464 invitations to Labour and Express Entry stream candidates in the past 12 months.
As proposed for 2023, this draw is in accordance with PEI PNP’s schedule. Prior to this, Prince Edward Island conducted a similar draw on May 04, 2023.
Overview of the PEI Express Entry and Labour Stream
Through the labor and express entry streams of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), people can immigrate to the beautiful province of Prince Edward Island (PEI) in Canada.
People who have a valid job offer from a PEI company are eligible for the labor stream. This stream aims to meet the demands of the province’s labor market by luring competent workers with the necessary education and expertise in in-demand professions. The federal Express Entry program, on the other hand, is consistent with the Express Entry stream. If candidates fit the requirements for one of the three federal economic immigration programs, they can express their interest in moving to Prince Edward Island using the indicated Entry system.
The PEI PNP comprises several streams, including Express Entry, Labour Impact, Business Impact, and the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program.
Candidates for PEI nomination through Express Entry must submit a unique Expression of Interest (EOI) to the PEI PNP. EOI profiles are graded using a PEI points grid system, much like the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) for Express Entry. High-ranking candidates are urged to apply through monthly lotteries.
The PEI PNP then selects qualified candidates from the Express Entry pool who have indicated a desire to move to PEI. Successful candidates who are recommended by the PEI PNP under the Labour or Express Entry streams may next apply to the Canadian federal government for permanent residency.
