Canada manages over 80 economic class immigration programs at the moment
The Canadian immigration system has accomplished a lot in order to establish itself as superior to that of other countries. In the year 2020, the country is set to welcome almost 200,000 economic class immigrants under its 80 immigration programs. Candidates should apply for immigration to Canada even if they do not meet all the recent Express Entry cut-off scores because they stand a higher chance of success at the moment.
The Express Entry system, since May 2019, has set a bar for its Comprehensive Ranking Score at 460 points and above. This means that candidates will able to obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency only if they have the required score. Recent times have seen the CRS score target rise even higher. Before this, the Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) cut-offs usually ranged between 430 and 450 points for almost two years. The reason why the cut-off score has suddenly risen is that more candidates are now being awarded additional CRS points if they have any kind of Canadian experience. They could be former international students or temporary skilled workers; it will boost their score and increase their chance of obtaining a provincial nomination.
However, candidates should not be discouraged in spite of the higher cut-offs. It is not entirely possible to accurately predict CRS cut-offs. If you submit an Express Entry application, you will at least have a chance of receiving an ITA in case the government reduces the required score. Moreover, provinces and territories are able to nominate candidates through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). If a candidate does not have the cut-off score but gains a nomination, there will still be a fighting chance.
Candidates should constantly work hard to improve their CRS scores even after they have submitted the Express Entry applications.
