Canada Invites Over 4,600 International Experience Candidates in Latest Draw
In a move to foster cultural exchange and provide international work opportunities, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 4,615 invitations to apply for an open work permit through the International Experience Canada (IEC) program. The latest round of invitations, spanning from May 20 to June 2, 2024, reflects Canada’s commitment to attracting and embracing young global talent.
The IEC program, designed for individuals aged 18 to 35 or full-time students, offers a unique opportunity for foreign nationals to live and work in Canada for up to two years. Through this initiative, Canada aims to promote international cooperation and facilitate cultural immersion, while simultaneously addressing labor market needs.
The latest draw saw invitations extended to candidates from a diverse array of countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom.
As of June 2, 2024, a total of 34,015 candidates were registered in the IEC pool, eagerly awaiting their chance to embark on a Canadian adventure. The program’s popularity reflects the nation’s allure as a destination for personal and professional growth, as well as its reputation as a welcoming and inclusive society.
Since the beginning of 2024, Canada has issued an impressive 83,384 invitations under the IEC program, underscoring its commitment to fostering global connections and embracing diversity within its borders.
