PNP Immigrants’ Success in British Columbia
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) immigrants have proven their worth in various provinces, but according to a recent Statistics Canada report, those settling in British Columbia along with Ontario, and Alberta experienced the highest earnings.
The report reveals interesting insights into the earnings of PNP immigrants compared to those in the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program. While PNP nominees initially had higher entry earnings, FSW immigrants demonstrated faster earnings growth, surpassing Canada PNP nominees after five years.
The 2015-to-2019 cohort data shows that average entry earnings for PNP nominees were $50,100, compared to $56,600 for FSW candidates. The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) immigrants reported even higher entry earnings at $72,000.
FSW candidates leverage the Express Entry system, where profiles are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The highest-ranked candidates receive invitations to apply for permanent residence, initiating a 60-day window for submitting a complete application.
The CEC program recognizes candidates who contribute significantly to the Canadian economy, having spent ample time studying and working in the country.
