Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program Invites 253 Candidates in Latest Draw

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has continued its stride in attracting skilled immigrants to the province with the latest invitation round held on May 23, 2024. In this 219th draw, the MPNP issued a total of 253 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across various streams, reinforcing its commitment to addressing labor market needs and fostering economic growth.

The Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, which targets individuals already residing in the province, saw the highest number of invitations. Under the Close relative in Manitoba selection, 121 candidates with a minimum score of 782 received LAAs, indicating the program’s emphasis on family reunification and retaining talented individuals.

Meanwhile, the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, designed to attract international talent, issued 39 LAAs to candidates invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. This initiative aims to address specific labor market needs by targeting individuals with in-demand skills and qualifications. The lowest score accepted in this category was 688 points, showcasing the program’s competitive nature.

Furthermore, the International Education Stream, which recognizes the valuable contributions of international students, saw 93 invitations being issued. This stream provides a pathway for international graduates from Manitoba’s educational institutions to pursue permanent residency and contribute to the province’s skilled workforce.

Notably, this invitation round also included 29 Express Entry candidates, reflecting the MPNP’s alignment with the federal government’s Express Entry system. By nominating Express Entry candidates, the MPNP streamlines the permanent residency process for skilled workers who have already been recognized for their potential contribution to the Canadian economy.

Since the beginning of 2024, the MPNP has issued a total of 4,241 invitations, with 573 of them being extended to Express Entry candidates. These figures demonstrate the program’s commitment to attracting and retaining talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering a vibrant and diverse economic landscape in Manitoba.

As the competition for skilled immigrants intensifies globally, the MPNP’s proactive approach to targeting and nominating candidates through various streams positions Manitoba as an attractive destination for skilled professionals seeking new opportunities and a high quality of life.
