Manitoba Issues Invitations in Latest MPNP Draw
On June 6, 2024, Manitoba conducted its latest invitation round under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), marking invitation round #220. This round saw 254 candidates invited across various streams, reflecting the province’s ongoing efforts to attract skilled workers and international graduates to support its labor market needs.
In the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 135 candidates received invitations, with a minimum score of 834. This stream targets individuals already employed in Manitoba, ensuring they have the skills and experience required by local employers.
The Skilled Workers Overseas stream, which focuses on attracting talent from abroad, saw 45 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. Candidates in this category needed a minimum score of 708 points to qualify.
The International Education Stream, designed for recent graduates from Manitoba’s educational institutions, issued 74 invitations. This stream aims to retain talented international students who have completed their studies in Manitoba and wish to contribute to the province’s economy.
Notably, this round included 35 Express Entry candidates, underscoring Manitoba’s commitment to leveraging the federal Express Entry system to meet its labor market needs.
So far in 2024, the MPNP has issued invitations to 4,495 candidates, with 608 of these being Express Entry candidates. This highlights Manitoba’s proactive approach to attracting a diverse range of skilled workers and international graduates to support its economic growth and development.
