Manitoba PNP Invites 126 Candidates in Latest Draw MPNP Round #223 Results

In its ongoing effort to address labor shortages and boost economic growth, Manitoba has conducted its 223rd invitation round under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) on July 4, 2024. This latest draw showcases the province’s commitment to attracting skilled workers and retaining international graduates.

The MPNP issued a total of 126 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across various immigration streams, demonstrating Manitoba’s diverse approach to immigration. This strategic selection process aims to meet the province’s evolving labor market needs while providing opportunities for skilled immigrants to build their lives in Manitoba.

In the Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO) stream, 41 candidates received LAAs under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. This initiative targets individuals with skills and experience aligned with Manitoba’s economic priorities. The minimum score for the SWO category was set at 709 points, indicating the competitive nature of this stream.

The International Education Stream (IES) saw the largest number of invitations in this round, with 85 LAAs issued. This significant number underscores Manitoba’s dedication to retaining international graduates who have studied in the province, leveraging their Canadian education and their familiarity with local culture and work environments.

Notably, 19 of the total invitations were extended to candidates in the Express Entry pool. This alignment with the federal Express Entry system allows Manitoba to fast-track the immigration process for candidates who meet both provincial and federal criteria.

The July 4 draw contributes to an impressive total for 2024, with Manitoba having invited 5,034 candidates so far this year. Of these, 751 invitations have been issued to Express Entry candidates, highlighting the growing importance of this pathway in Manitoba’s immigration strategy.

For prospective immigrants, these results offer valuable insights into the MPNP’s current trends and priorities. The high minimum score for the SWO stream suggests that candidates should focus on improving their profiles, particularly in areas such as language proficiency, work experience, and education.

International students and graduates in Manitoba should take note of the strong emphasis on the IES stream, which presents a clear pathway to permanent residency for those who have studied in the province.
