Canada expanded the Student Direct Stream (SDS) and included three additional nations, namely Senegal, Morocco, and Pakistan. The development happened back in 2019. Under the SDS program, students from the aforementioned countries, the Philippines, China, India, and Vietnam will acquire study permits within a period of 20 days. The international student population in Canada has doubled since 2012 to include more than 570,000 students in 2018. With this significant growth, there is also more emphasis on settlement and integration needs of the international population.
