Registering in Canada Express Entry Pool Benefits

Are you thinking about entering the Canadian Express Entry pool? Find out if it will be the correct decision!

Canada has become a popular destination country for immigrants looking to settle down and establish successful careers. You might want to enjoy the benefits of Canadian immigration too. The ideal first step would be to enter the Express Entry pool in Canada. But will that be the right decision for you?

To facilitate faster recovery of the economy, Canada wants to increase its immigrant intake in the post-COVID era. As per the 2021-2023 Immigration Levels Plan, the country wants to welcome more than 400,000 new immigrants annually. About 60% of these newcomers will be skilled workers who can fill the labor gaps in the market. Canada uses the Express Entry system to process most of its skilled worker applications so you will have a fair chance of getting selected if you are in the Express Entry pool.

Most immigrants successfully take advantage of the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) via Express Entry to make the immigration process easier. Before the pandemic, almost 50% of all Express Entry immigrants were FSWP candidates, and the rest immigrated via the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). With the pandemic, IRCC has been forced to change its approach with CEC and PNP candidates who are already in the country and will not be affected by pandemic-related restrictions.

Unless you are in the Express Entry pool, it is likely that you will not receive an ITA for permanent residence anytime soon. Even the FSWP candidates who have been waitlisted by IRCC will soon begin receiving invitations. The only risk that you run by entering the pool at the moment is your official language test might expire if you do not secure an ITA in the next two years. But, that is small risk to take when you consider the big picture.
