Parents and Grandparents Program 2021 Sponsorship Lottery Takes Place
Canadian citizens and permanent residents are eagerly waiting to sponsor their parents and grandparents and bring them into the country. After the pandemic forced so many people to stay away from their families for long periods, it is only natural that candidates are looking to complete the sponsorship process as soon as possible.
Now that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) had held the Parents and Grandparents Program 2021 sponsorship lottery, interested candidates will soon receive invitations. IRCC is planning to issue 30,000 invitations to permanent residents and Canadian citizens who will be eligible to provide sponsorship to their parents and grandparents. IRCC will be distributing the invitations over the next two weeks until October 7.
Requirements
Parents and grandparents who receive sponsorships will become permanent residents in Canada. They will receive all the benefits that come with it. The invited candidates will be allowed to complete their sponsorship applications within 60 days. If you want to be a sponsor under the Parents and Grandparents Program 2021, you must satisfy all the eligibility criteria. You have to be an adult or be status First Nations. You have to meet the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI).
Sponsors were asked to submit their interest to sponsor forms last year during October and November directly on the website. The lottery took place in January 2021 to pick 10,000 eligible sponsors. This recent round of invitations will be based on the same candidate pool as the 2020 submissions.
