New CEC Express Entry Draw Records a Drop in CRS
Canada has been organizing massive draws in 2021 in order to invite skilled immigrants who will be able to boost the economy of the country by fulfilling the labor deficits.
Details of the draw
On April 1, Canada issued 5000 invitations to candidates in the Express Entry pool who will now be able to submit their applications for permanent residence. The candidates were required to have a minimum score of 432 to be eligible for an Invitation to Apply or ITA. All of the selected candidates fulfilled the eligibility requirements of the Canadian Experience Class or CEC.
The previous draw exclusive to CEC candidates recorded a higher cutoff score than this one.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) publish a cut-off time under the tie-break rule for every draw irrespective of whether there is an actual draw. The chosen candidates must have registered their Express Entry profile prior to 09:51:22 UTC on February 16, 2021.
Why is Canada holding program-specific draws?
The Canadian border still has not opened up for international travellers with non-essential purposes. However, the country must continue to invite new immigrants so that the target can be achieved by the end of the year. The expectations from the Express-Entry managed programs are high this year.
In order to keep up the inflow of new immigrants into the country, IRCC is holding program-specific draws for the people who are already in Canada. In order to qualify under the CEC, candidates are required to have at least one year of full-time professional experience. As a result, they have a higher chance of being in the country.
