British Columbia Tech Pilot Draw Issues 80 Invitations
British Columbia has been actively inviting eligible immigrants into the province to support the labour market. The latest British Columbia Tech Pilot draw took place on April 6, 2021 and the province ended up inviting 80 candidates who will now have the chance to submit an application for a provincial nomination.
They will have a higher chance of becoming a permanent resident if they manage to secure a nomination. The British Columbia Provincial Nomination (BC PNP) invited candidates belonging to the Skills Immigration and Express Entry British Columbia categories via the Tech Pilot draw.
The Tech Pilot
International students and in-demand tech workers can use the British Columbia PNP as a fast-track immigration pathway. It was introduced in 2017 and the province has extended it multiple times. Anybody who wants to be eligible for the Tech Pilot draw has to register in any of the province’s immigration streams.
They should also have secured a job offer in the province. There are 29 eligible professions under the Tech Pilot, and the candidates must choose one of them if they want to be invited via the British Columbia Tech Pilot draw.
If you are interested in the Express Entry BC or Skills Immigration categories, you should make a profile in the Skills Immigration Registration System. The applicants are assessed by the province on the basis of certain factors like educational qualifications and work experience.
The candidates who received invitations to apply during the draw belonged to the International Graduate and Skilled Worker sub-categories. The required provincial score for the candidates was 80.
