British Columbia Issues 59 Invitations in Recent Tech Draw
British Columbia is one of the most popular Canadian provinces among immigrants. The province has been organizing draws regularly this year to invite skilled candidates who will be able to bolster the economy.
On July 27, British Columbia held a new draw via the Tech Draw. A total of 59 candidates received invitations, and they will now have the chance to secure a provincial nomination. The province has invited a total of 6667 candidates so far in 2021.
What is the Tech Draw?
The BC PNP Tech program came into existence back in May 2017 to help the technology sector access more talent. It has recently become a permanent program due to its immense popularity. It acts as a fast-track immigration program for in-demand international students and tech workers. It was mandatory for candidates to complete their registration in any of the existing provincial immigration streams to receive an invitation. They also needed to have a valid job offer with a duration of 12 months or more in any of the 29 eligible professions as listed by the province.
Details of the draw
In the July 27 draw, candidates working in the primary technology professions received invitations to apply for a provincial nomination. They belonged to the International Graduate and Skilled Worker subcategories. The required provincial score for them was 80. The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) expects the candidates to submit their applications within a month. Provincial nominees receive 600 extra CRS points which will help them secure invitations to apply for permanent residence.
