Prince Edward Island Issued 159 Invitations in Its Latest PNP Draw
On May 18, 2023, Prince Edward Island (PEI) held its eighth PNP draw of 2023. The draw invited candidates through the Labour and Express Entry and Business Work Permit Entrepreneur streams. As proposed for 2023, this draw is in accordance with PEI PNP’s schedule.
Highlights of the Draw: Who Was Invited?
In the draw, Prince Edward Island (PEI) issued 159 invitations to the candidates of the Labour and Express Entry and Business Work Permit Entrepreneur streams.
To date, the province issued a total of 2,286 invitations to Labour and Express Entry stream candidates in the past 12 months. In addition, PEI Provincial Nominee Program has issued a total of 101 Business Work Permit Entrepreneur invitations.
Here’s the breakdown of the latest PEI PNP draw:
- A total of 3 invitations were issued to candidates under the stream of Business Work Permit Entrepreneur. To qualify, candidates required a minimum score of 65;
- PEI’s Labor and Express Entry stream invited a total of 156 invitations
PEI PNP Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must fulfill the following criteria in order to be eligible for the PEI PNP:

Work Experience | 2 years of full-time experience in a skilled occupation |
Language Proficiency | CLB of 4 in English or French |
In addition to these criteria, you also need to have the intention to settle and enough money to live in the province. Candidates must also meet the specific eligibility requirements of the PEI PNP stream they are seeking for. The PEI PNP has a number of streams, including Express Entry, Labor Impact, Business Impact, and the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program.
Candidates for PEI nomination through Express Entry must submit a separate Expression of Interest (EOI) to the PEI PNP. Similar to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) for Express Entry, EOI profiles are given a grade based on a PEI points grid system. Through monthly lotteries, high-ranking prospects are encouraged to apply.
