Ontario Issues Invitations to Early Childhood Educators in Latest OINP Draws
On June 11, 2024, the Government of Ontario made significant strides in addressing the province’s demand for early childhood educators by issuing 244 invitations through the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP). These invitations were part of two distinct draws aimed at attracting skilled professionals to support Ontario’s educational sector.
The OINP invited 120 candidates under the Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream. This stream targets international graduates who have received job offers in Ontario, making it a crucial pathway for those seeking to leverage their Canadian education and professional skills within the province. Candidates in this stream needed a minimum score of 65 in the OINP Expression of Interest (EOI) system to receive an invitation.
Additionally, the OINP issued 124 invitations to early childhood educators and assistants through the Foreign Worker stream. This stream is designed for individuals who have received job offers in Ontario and possess the necessary skills and experience to contribute to the province’s workforce. The minimum score required for this draw was 43 in the EOI system, reflecting the program’s commitment to attracting qualified talent.

These draws underscore Ontario’s proactive approach to addressing labor shortages in critical sectors such as early childhood education. By targeting specific professions, the OINP ensures that the province can meet its educational needs and provide quality care and education to its youngest residents.
To date, Ontario has issued invitations to a total of 26,207 candidates across all streams in 2024. This impressive figure highlights the province’s ongoing efforts to attract and retain skilled immigrants who can contribute to its economic and social well-being.
