New Draw In Nova Scotia For Express Entry Applicants
Now that 2020 is coming to a close, Canadian provinces are holding their year-end draws.
Nova Scotia recently organized an Express Entry-related draw on December 1 to invite skilled workers. While the province has not revealed the number of invitations that were issued in the draw, it is clear that Nova Scotia is also aiming to boost immigration.
Candidates belonging to the Labor Market Priorities stream were targeted by the Nova Scotia Nominee Program or NSNP during the December 1 draw. The recipients will now be able to apply for provincial nomination within the next 30 days.
Eligibility requirements for the draw
Express Entry candidates who have already managed to secure full-time job offers in the province received invitations. In the context of this draw, “full-time” refers to working throughout the year or 30+ hours a week.
They must be hired by an employer from Nova Scotia for one year minimum once the permanent resident visa is given to them. The selected candidates were also required to have a year of work experience related to their specific job as well as a secondary school diploma.
The draw was also specific about language requirements. Only those candidates were invited who scored five or more in English or French during their Canadian Language Benchmark test.
Role of this immigration stream:
The NSNP is able to browse the federal Express Entry pool for eligible candidates via the Labor Market Priorities Stream. The purpose of this search is to locate candidates who have the specific skills to fill the labor market deficiencies in Nova Scotia.
