Manitoba PNP issues invitations to 125 immigration candidates
Canadian provinces trying to stay on top of the immigration process even during the immigration process. Manitoba organized its 93rd Manitoba PNP draw on July 2. The draw issued invitations to candidates belonging to three streams.
Details of the draw:
Manitoba distributed a total of 125 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to the immigration candidates. The aim of the LAAs is to allow candidates to apply for a provincial nomination that will help them on their journey towards permanent residence in Canada. Candidates belonging to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) were given invitations under the following streams:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 101
- Skilled Workers Overseas: 6
- International Education Stream: 18
The lowest-ranked invited candidate belonging to the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream had a score of 475. The score requirement was 816 for candidates who were invited under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream. Among those invited, ten candidates already had registered profiles in the federal Express Entry system.
Till now, Manitoba has given LAAs to 2,460 candidates in 2020.
Manitoba’s system:
It is mandatory for immigration candidates to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) with Manitoba if they want to receive an LAA under the Skilled Workers Overseas or the Skilled Workers in Manitoba streams. All the candidates are evaluated on the basis of human capital factors like language skills, education, work experience, Manitoba ties, and others. They are assigned a rank out of 1,000 points.
The Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas Category streams help the province attract candidates who can meet its economic needs.
Candidates who live overseas must show that they have connections to Manitoba. However, they can submit their application even if they do not live in the province.
