Immigration Announcement
IELTS and CELPIP update for Canadian immigrants
English language requirement tests such as IELTS and CELPIP have decided to increase their operations recently since countries across the globe have started lifting coronavirus restrictions. International applicants who want to register for an English language test can now access more test dates for IELTS and CELPIP. These tests are essential for people who are looking to secure a Canadian permanent resident visa.
Importance of IELTS and CELPIP
The Canadian government accepts both the CELPIP and the IELTS General Training for individuals who want to submit an Express Entry profile. The tests will also help them obtain permanent residence via many federal or provincial streams like the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
The pandemic left immigration candidates struggling to complete this important step because the operators of IELTS and CELPIP had to follow the government regulations around the globe. The enforcement of global COVID-19 containment measures led non-essential services to stop their operations. However, governments all over the world have begun to ease the restrictions in recent weeks. Now, IELTS and CELPIP test takers can complete the English language requirement.
Availability:
IELTS is available in 72 countries at the moment. Countries that are the leading sources of immigrants in Canada like Australia, France, India and Mexico have begun to offer more test dates. People can also sit for IELTS in Canada. Temporary foreign workers, international students, as well as temporary residents and visitors in Canada, will now be able to book their IELTS in Canadian provinces.
On the other hand, CELPIP can be accessed by candidates in Canada, United States, China, Philippines, United Arab Emirates, and India.
Completing the English language requirement through IELTS or CELPIP proved to be an obstacle for many since March, but candidates will now be able to avail of the services.
