In the most recent Ontario Express Entry Draw on March 1, 2024, the Ontario PNP extended invitations to an impressive 2,583 candidates seeking the provincial nomination. These individuals, with Express Entry profiles created between March 1, 2023, and March 1, 2024, achieved Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores ranging from 350 to 424, showcasing expertise in one of the 49 skilled trade streams listed by the OINP.

Eligibility Criteria

If you possess an Express Entry profile and have dedicated a minimum of one year to full-time (or equivalent part-time) work in Ontario within the last two years, specifically in Major Groups 72 (excluding transportation officers), 73, 82, 83, 93 (excluding aircraft assemblers and aircraft assembly inspectors), or Minor Group 6320 (excluding cooks), congratulations—you automatically qualify for consideration in the OINP Express Entry Skilled Trades stream draw.

  • NOC 72010 – NOC 72106 includes machining, metal forming, shaping, erecting trades, electrical trades, telecommunications, pipefitting trades, carpentry trades, mechanic trades, heavy equipment operator crews, machinists and machining and tooling inspectors, Tool and die makers, Sheet metal workers, Boilermakers, Ironworkers, and Welders and related machine operators.
  • NOC 72200 – NOC 72205 includes occupations like Electricians (except industrial and power systems), Industrial electricians, Electrical power line and cable workers, Telecommunications line and cable installers and repairers, and Telecommunications equipment installation and cable television service technicians.
  • NOC 72300 – NOC 72321 involves Plumbers, Steamfitters, pipefitters, sprinkler system installers, Gas fitters, Carpenters, Cabinetmakers, Bricklayers, and Insulators.
  • NOC 72400 – NOC 72423 includes Construction millwrights and industrial mechanics, Heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning mechanics, Railway carmen/women, Aircraft mechanics, and aircraft inspectors, Elevator constructors and mechanics, Automotive service technicians, truck and bus mechanics and mechanical repairers, Electrical mechanics, and Motorcycle, all-terrain vehicle, and other related mechanics.

OINP Update: Applicant Consent Form Now Mandatory

Effective February 26, 2024, a crucial change has been implemented for all new applications within the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Moving forward, applicants must include the Applicant Consent Form as part of their submission.

To ensure compliance:

  • Thoroughly complete the form
  • Ensure accurate dating
  • Obtain the applicant’s signature
  • Secure the signatures of the applicant’s spouse and dependents, if applicable
  • Upload the form alongside other necessary documents in your application

The form must be correctly filled out; any errors will result in the return of your application as incomplete, with a refund of your fee. Notably, if you have enlisted the services of a representative, they are not authorized to sign this form on your behalf.

This form must be completed after receiving an invitation to apply or a notification of interest. Notably, OINP no longer requires the PDF Attestation Form for applications made under an expression of interest system stream.
