Alberta’s New PNP Draw to Invites 181 Candidates
Alberta, alongside other Canadian provinces, has been trying to increase the number of newcomers this year in order to make up for the immigration losses suffered last year. Skilled candidates who will be able to make significant contributions to the company and the provincial market are always welcome in Canada.
Details of the draw
The government of Alberta has finally published the details of its latest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw that took place on July 14. Candidates registered in the Express Entry pool received invitations if they had scores equal to or above 301.
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) issued a total of 181 invitations. The selected candidates will now be able to submit their application for a provincial nomination, and they can do so via the Alberta Express Entry stream. The Alberta Express Entry stream gives the provincial government a chance to go through the Express Entry pool of candidates registered in the federal system and select the candidates who have the potential to fulfill the requirements of a provincial nomination. Successful provincial nominees will be awarded 600 extra CRS points.
Alberta’s last Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw that was held in June issued a lower number of invitations, and the CRS requirement was higher. Alberta has already issued more than 2500 invitations to eligible Express Entry candidates in 2021. The province resumed the invitations distribution process in January 2021 after a short break in 2020. It will be allowed to issue 6,250 nomination certificates in total this year, so the rest of the draws will prove to be quite important.
