IRCC held Latest All-Program Express Entry Draw: Issued 2000 Invitations
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced the results of the latest all-program Express Entry draw for the month. The draw issued invitations to 2000 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 517 to apply for permanent residence.
Highlights of Express Entry Draws – July Month
- On July 13, IRCC held an all-program express entry draw which invited a total of 800 candidates. The minimum score required in the draw was 505.
- The IRCC issued invitations to 3,800 French-speaking candidates in a category-based selection draw. A CRS score of 375 was the minimum and lowest score for any draw this year. This draw was held on July 11.
- On July 4, IRCC held an unexpected surprise all-program express entry draw which called up 700 candidates. The needed CRS score of 511 for the all-program draw was the highest to date in 2023.
- The results of the second draw of the week were announced on July 5, 2023. The draw invited 500 individuals with prior job experience in specific STEM fields.
- With a cut-off CRS score of 463, the third draw invited 1,500 applicants for a category-based selection draw for healthcare professionals.
- Another category-based selection draw happened on July 7. IRCC sent invitations to 2,300 French-speaking candidates who had a CRS of at least 439.
Express Entry Draws 2023
In 2023, Canada’s Express Entry system has been doing well, providing many opportunities for skilled workers from different countries to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The government has been holding regular every week to invite candidates from the all-programs.
The minimum score required to get an invitation has been changing a bit in each draw, depending on the number of candidates in the pool and the country’s labor market needs. But overall, the scores have been quite stable, giving candidates with competitive profiles a good chance of receiving an invitation.
A notable change this year is the announcement of New Category-based selection draws. On May 31, IRCC disclosed that it would start holding lotteries later in the summer for Express Entry applicants who fit into six new categories. Healthcare, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Professions, Carpenters, Plumbers, Contractors, Transport, Agriculture and Agri-Food, and French-speaking proficiency.
To qualify for an ITA, candidates must be included in the Express Entry pool. According to IRCC, individuals who apply through Express Entry and meet the criteria will still be ranked, and the candidates with the highest scores would be given ITAs.
As the year goes on, it’s likely that the Express Entry system will continue to be a key part of Canada’s immigration strategy, attracting skilled workers to contribute to the country’s economy and workforce.
