Move to Canada from US

There are plenty of reasons why Canada is the hottest destination for immigrants at the moment.

Citizens and residents of the United States can consider moving to Canada since there are more than 100 permanent residence pathways for candidates to use during immigration.

More than 10,000 people from the United States shift to Canada every year via Express Entry. It is the second most popular source country for Canada’ Express Entry immigrants. There is a lot of uncertainty about immigration for U.S. residents with President Trump enforcing new measures and hence moving to Canada could be a great choice.

Reasons to Move to Canada

Canada is known as one of the most welcoming countries in the world when it comes to immigrants. U.S. residents who are considering a move should consider Canada because:

  • Free universal healthcare: As Canadians and Canadian permanent residents, you will never have to stress about expensive medical bills again in your life.
  • Good work-life balance: If you work in Canada, you will be able to work for shorter hours without compromising your financial state. According to a Gallup article, full-time U.S. workers usually work an average of 47 hours every week, but the standard number of weekly work hours in Canada is 40 hours every week.
  • Paid maternity leave: The United States offers just 12 weeks of unpaid parental leave. On the other hand, Canadian mothers are able to enjoy 35 to 61 weeks off as their maternity leave. They also receive money via Canada’s Employment Insurance (EI).
  • Paid statutory holidays: Workers have paid statutory holidays in Canada, contrary to employers in the United States who do not have to pay employees for time not worked necessarily.
