Recently, one of the Canadian province Saskatchewan conducted Expression of Interest (EOI) draws for provincial immigration. On May 3, 2023, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) issued invitations to 1,032 candidates in two categories: Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand. Similar to other PNPs, the SINP is also an immigration program for skilled workers, investors, and entrepreneurs.

The Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) was designed to help distribute the benefits and positive effects of immigration across Canada. In addition, PNP also intended to help address the unique demographic and workforce challenges of different provinces The PNP also provides a pipeline linked to Express Entry. Applicants to the Federal Express Entry Pool are accepted in these streams and, if eligible, receive the province’s list or notice of interest (NOI).

Highlights of the Draw: Who Was Invited?

In its fourth draw of 2023, the province of Saskatchewan held two draws. The province invited 1,032 candidates with a CRS score of 68 points – the lowest so far. Here’s a breakdown of invitations issued across two streams:

  • 739 invitations were sent out from the Express Entry stream with specified NOC codes; and

Candidates those were invited must had an ECA of their academic credentials.

Note: Not all professions were chosen. Candidates who received an invitation to the Express Entry or Occupation In-demand, must submit a PR application in 60 days.

An Overview of SINP – How It Works?

SINP, being one of the most popular immigration pathway, offers different streams to workers, investors and more. The eligibility requirements and application procedure differ for each stream. Candidates must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the program in order to apply for the SINP.

After applying, they will be evaluated using a points system called SINP points calculator. SINP calculator works similar to CRS calculator. Those who satisfy the requirements are invited to submit an application for provincial nomination. Later, candidates can apply for Canada PR with the Canadian federal government after receiving a nomination from the SINP.
