Prince Edward Island Invited 122 Labour and Express Entry Candidates in Its PNP Draw

On May 04, 2023, Prince Edward Island (PEI) held its seventh draw of 2023. The draw invited candidates through the Labour and Express Entry streams only. The province has not invited any candidates through the Business Work Permit Entrepreneur streams in its PNP draw. As proposed for 2023, this draw is in accordance with PEI PNP’s schedule.

Highlights of the Draw: Who Was Invited?

In the draw, Prince Edward Island (PEI) issued 122 invitations to the candidates of the Labour and Express Entry stream. However, so far, the province issued a total of 2,130 invitations to Labour and Express Entry stream candidates in the past 12 months. In addition, PEI Provincial Nominee Program has issued a total of 98 Business Work Permit Entrepreneur invitations.

PEI PNP Eligibility Requirements

With the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP), the government of PEI is able to choose suitable immigrants who have the qualifications and expertise necessary to boost the local economy. Candidates must fulfill the following criteria in order to be eligible for the PEI PNP:

The PEI government is able to select qualified immigrants having knowledge and skills to strengthen the local economy only because of PEI’s Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).

The following requirements must be met by applicants in order to be qualified for the PEI PNP:

AgeBetween 21-59 years
EducationAt least a High school diploma. Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degree
Work Experience2 years of full-time experience in a skilled occupation
Language ProficiencyCLB of 4 in English or French

In addition to these criteria, you also need to have the intention to settle and enough money to live in the province. The PEI PNP has a number of streams, including Express Entry, Labor Impact, Business Impact, and the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program. Candidates for PEI nomination through Express Entry must submit a separate Expression of Interest (EOI) to the PEI PNP. Similar to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) for Express Entry, EOI profiles are given a grade based on a PEI points grid system.
