Saskatchewan issues invitations to 570 PNP candidates

The Canadian province of Saskatchewan decided to organize a draw on August 27, during which they invited 570 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.

Details of the draw

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) issued invitations to candidates belonging to the International Skilled Worker category via the Occupations In-Demand subcategory. The successful candidates had professional work experience in any one of the 50 listed occupations.

The invited candidates had to sit for Educational Credential assessments. Moreover, they required an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 68 minimum if they had some kind of connection to the province or a decade of work experience and an excellent Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 8 minimum. If the candidates belonged to neither of the above-mentioned groups, they needed a minimum of 69 points.

The 50 eligible occupations that Saskatchewan took into consideration when inviting candidates included human resources professionals, financial managers, and occupational therapists, among many others.

Occupations In-Demand subcategory

Saskatchewan introduced the Occupations In-Demand sub-category as a base Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Candidates interested in immigration can use this program even if they do not have a federal Express Entry profile.

The province targets this sub-category towards highly skilled workers who have work experience in any of the in-demand occupations in Saskatchewan but have not managed to secure a job offer in the province yet. Foreign nationals must create an EOI profile via the SINP’s online application system if they want to submit an application for Canadian immigration via this sub-category.

Saskatchewan’s EOI system lets the province choose immigration candidates who have the ability to do well here. Candidates are usually evaluated on the basis of their education, work experience, language skills, age, and connections to the province. They are scored out of 100 on the basis of SINP’s International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid.
