Saskatchewan Hosts New PNP Draw to Invite 269 Immigrants
The Canadian province of Saskatchewan has been inviting new eligible immigrants regularly to make up for low immigration numbers recorded in 2020. On April 22, the Canadian province of Saskatchewan held a new PNP draw to issue 269 invitations among immigration candidates.
The selected candidates will now have the chance to submit their application for a provincial nomination. Anyone who wants to become a permanent resident in Canada benefits from a provincial nomination.
Provinces choose to nominate candidates who can reduce the gaps in their labor market. As a result, they have an advantage over other candidates. An extra 600 CRS points are awarded to the people who successfully secure a provincial nomination.
Details of the draw
The April 22 draw saw the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) inviting candidates who could satisfy the eligibility requirements of receiving a nomination via the International Skilled Worker category.
Among the candidates who received invitations,130 of them could qualify for the Express Entry subcategory. The remaining 139 candidates have the chance to get a nomination via the Occupations In-Demand sub-category.
In order to receive an invitation, candidates were expected to have work experience in any of the 61 in-demand professions listed by Saskatchewan PNP Draw. Utilities managers, miners and medical laboratory technicians were some of the professionals who were invited.
All the invited candidates were required to have a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 70 irrespective of the stream. It was also important for them to have Educational Credential Assessments that would show that their international education qualifications were equivalent to the Canadian standard.
