Canadian Express Entry Categories

The Canadian province of Saskatchewan organized another draw for candidates belonging to the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand categories. The draw took place on 12th November and issued invitations to 525 skilled workers allowing them to apply for a provincial nomination that could grant them permanent residence in the long run.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has an Express Entry sub-category that is associated with the federal government’s Express Entry system. This system is in charge of the pool of candidates for Canada’s three main economic-class immigration programs- namely, the Federal Skilled Trades Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Class, and the Canadian Experience Class. 303 Express Entry candidates were given invitations to apply for the draw that was held on 12th November.

Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination from the province of Saskatchewan after submitting their applications are given an extra 600 points that are added to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. This boost in the score almost guarantees them an invitation permitting them to apply for Canadian permanent residence. The Occupation In-Demand sub-category is available for immigration candidates without an Express Entry profile.

For this selection round, more than 200 Occupation In-Demand candidates were given invitations to apply for a provincial nomination and take a step forward towards Canadian permanent residence. The Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand sub-categories under the SINP have gained a lot of popularity because they do not require the applicants to have a job offer in Saskatchewan. However, both the sub-categories do need candidates to have one year of work experience in any skilled occupation that is eligible and related to their field of study.

The SINP has distributed 5,229 invitations to candidates falling under both sub-categories through 12 invitation rounds.
