The PEI PNP utilizes the Expression of Interest (EOI) system to identify candidates with the highest potential to meet the economic and labor market needs of Prince Edward Island. In 2023, the PEI PNP conducted 22 immigration draws, inviting a total of 2,422 candidates throughout the year. The province’s proactive approach to immigration underscores its commitment to attracting individuals who can contribute to its economic growth and development.
Provincial Investment in Research and Knowledge Initiative (RKI)
Recently, on Jan 24, 2024, the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities, announced a federal investment of nearly $6 million for twelve projects under the Research and Knowledge Initiative. The projects aim to address housing and infrastructure challenges in communities across Canada. The projects cover a range of topics, from climate change preparedness and affordability measures to mobility choices and infrastructure investments. The funding will support research that addresses complex challenges, including rapid urbanization, housing concerns, climate change impacts, and environmental threats.
