Ontario Forced To Shut Down Stream Registration After Technical Errors
Ontario is extremely friendly towards immigrants and ensures fairness in all immigration events. The province often opens an online portal to accept applications for a certain stream. Candidates, hence, have the same amount of time to apply until the seats fill up and the portal shuts down.
Technical Problems
On November 26, however, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program’s plan was foiled due to technical difficulties. Ontario had organized an event to accept applications for the Employer Job Offer: International Student stream that day. Unfortunately, the registration had to stop midway once the province realized that there were problems.
In a media release, Ontario clarified that the registration would not open up again on November 26, allowing candidates to retain hope that they can complete their registration on another day.
Whenever Ontario organizes such a registration event, they are prepared for large user volumes. This time, the window opened from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Ontario made the usual announcements regarding the rules. Unfortunately, they had no other choice but to shut down the registration when they saw that users were facing technical errors.Â
Details of the program
The Employer Job Offer: International Student was targeted towards international students who already have job offers in Ontario. Successful candidates would have been able to submit their application for a provincial nomination. The primary eligibility requirement was that the candidate should have a current job offer as well as an up-to-date employer form.
Reports state that the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program is planning to introduce an Expression of Interest system in 2021 in order to control the applicant pool. This might truly be beneficial considering that Ontario’s popularity is steadily on the rise.
