New Immigration Pathway in Alberta For International Graduates

All Canadian provinces are trying to introduce new immigration pathways and programs in order to attract more eligible workers. The Foreign Graduate Start-up Visa Stream is one of the newest pathways to be introduced.

Alberta’s new stream 

Alberta has now opened up a new immigration pathway for international graduates who are located outside Canada. You are now free to submit Expression of Interest forms and try to secure a position for yourself in the program.

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program or AINP started accepting applications from January 27, 2021. If you are interested in this program, you have to fulfill certain requirements. To begin with, you must have completed your graduation from any post-secondary educational institution located outside of Canada within the previous two years. It is important that your educational credential is equivalent to a degree from Canada. Some other criteria include:

• At least six months as a full-time worker in the management branch of a business, or professional experience with a business accelerator
• A presentation regarding the proposed business lasting at least ten minutes
• A detailed business plan complete with financial predictions
• A certain level of investment from the candidate’s equity

When you try to submit your EOI through the AINP portal, you will have to answer some questions regarding your qualifications, language abilities, and work experience. You will then have your profiles created based on the ranking score you achieve. The ones with the highest scores will then receive invitations to fill a business application. According to the AINP, there is no fixed quotation for applications.
