Express Entry
New Brunswick Express Entry 2025 Now Accepting EOIs Under Two Pathways

The New Brunswick Express Entry stream is once again open for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) in 2025. The province has introduced updated eligibility criteria and two specific pathways for skilled workers seeking immigration opportunities. If you’re considering moving to New Brunswick, now is the time to explore your options.
New Brunswick Express Entry Pathways Open for 2025
Starting March 5, 2025, candidates can submit EOIs under the following two pathways:
- New Brunswick Express Entry – Employment in New Brunswick pathway
- New Brunswick Express Entry – New Brunswick Interests pathway
These pathways provide opportunities for skilled workers with relevant experience, but applicants must meet updated eligibility requirements to qualify.
Restricted Occupations for 2025
While many professions remain eligible for Express Entry, New Brunswick has identified certain National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes that will not be considered at this time. These include:
Restricted Occupations | NOC Code |
Accounting Technicians & Bookkeepers | 12200 |
Administrative Assistants | 13110 |
Retail & Wholesale Trade Managers | 60020 |
Restaurant & Food Service Managers | 60030 |
Retail Sales Supervisors | 62010 |
Food Service Supervisors | 62020 |
Cooks | 63200 |
Bakers | 63202 |
Applicants with experience in these occupations will need to explore alternative immigration pathways available in New Brunswick.
Changes for International Graduates
The New Brunswick Student Connection under Express Entry will not be returning in 2025. However, graduates with a valid job or job offer can still apply through the Employment in New Brunswick pathway. Additionally, they may consider other programs such as:
- New Brunswick Skilled Worker stream
- New Brunswick Strategic Initiative stream (for Francophone applicants)
- Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)
These options provide flexibility for international graduates who want to establish their careers in New Brunswick.
EOI Processing and Selection Criteria
The province does not process EOIs on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, submissions are placed in a pool and remain valid for 365 days. Immigration New Brunswick will review EOIs and issue Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to selected candidates through scheduled draws starting in April.
Review Eligibility Before Applying
Before submitting an EOI, applicants must carefully review the updated eligibility criteria and NOC restrictions for their chosen pathway. Only candidates who meet all requirements should proceed with their submissions.
New Brunswick’s Express Entry stream continues to be an attractive pathway for skilled workers, offering a structured immigration process with clear eligibility criteria. Those interested should prepare their applications in advance and stay updated on upcoming developments for the best chances of receiving an ITA.
