Moving to canada from US

The number of immigrants moving to Canada from the United States has spiked significantly in the last few years. More and more people are willing to shift and settle in Canada because of political, financial, and social motives. The two countries already share an important economic bond, and people from the United States view Canada as a viable destination that they are already familiar with.

The United States happens to be among the leading source countries of workers, immigrants, and students who are moving to Canada every year. Needless to say, thousands of people from the United States cross the border for a visit annually.

Immigrating as a skilled worker:

Canada is a federal country, but the sub-national governments do have Constitutional authority alongside the federal government when it comes to selecting immigrants. As an immigrant-friendly country, Canada offers more than 100 different merit-based immigration pathways that you can use if you are a skilled worker.

Most of these pathways evaluate candidates on the basis of certain factors that will affect their contribution to the province. Common scoring parameters include education, age, language proficiency, work experience, and existing family ties in the province. Some pathways prioritize candidates who already have a job offer in Canada. However, you should not be disappointed if you do not have a job offer because there are plenty of pathways that will offer you permanent residence regardless.

For U.S. citizens and residents, Express Entry is the primary solution for obtaining permanent residence. IRCC organizes Express Entry draws frequently in order to invite the candidate with the highest scores. Successful people can then complete their permanent residence application. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is also a viable option as every province offers a boatload of opportunities for you to choose from.
