Manitoba Organizes New PNP Draw to Invite Over 400 Candidates
With Canada setting high immigration targets for itself this year, the provinces are also increasing their candidate intake through regular draws. Many skilled candidates are receiving invitations to apply for provincial nominations.
Manitoba happens to be one of the largest and most popular provinces among candidates. In May 2021, the province decided to hold a rather surprising draw and invite a total of 404 candidates who are already registered in the Express Entry pool.
Details of the draw
For this draw, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) decided to target Express Entry candidates who could fulfill the eligibility requirements of the Skilled Workers Overseas stream and qualify for their nomination through it.
The candidates who secured their invitations to apply for a provincial nomination in this draw had a minimum EOI score of 601. Manitoba’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system assigns an appropriate score to candidates on the basis of the EOI-scoring matrix. It is important to note that candidates did not have to fulfill any Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) requirement in order to receive an invitation in this draw.
The selected candidates will now have the chance to apply for their provincial nomination as they have already existing Express Entry profiles. If they manage to secure a nomination, they will receive an additional 600 CRS points. This will put them at an advantage and they will be more likely to get invitations to apply for permanent residence in a later Express Entry draw.
