Alberta Issues 250 PNP Invitations in a New Express Entry Draw
Canadian provinces, including Alberta, have begun hosting regular draws to invite skilled candidates into the country. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is one of the most important components of the Canadian immigration system.
It gives the provinces a chance to go through the candidate pool and pick the most suitable people for their labor market requirements. Selected candidates can then aim to secure a provincial nomination.
Details of the latest draw
Information about the latest draw was released by Alberta on their website on May 25. Alberta organized the new draw to issue 250 invitations to skilled candidates in the Express Entry pool on May 18. They will now be able to submit their applications for a provincial nomination. This was the tenth draw to be held by the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) in 2021.
The Alberta Express Entry stream operates as an enhanced PNP. All the candidates who received invitations had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 301 and an existing profile. If you are interested in being a part of this program, you must make your profile under the Express Entry system.
Candidates in this draw will have to meet the eligibility requirements for receiving a provincial nomination. If they are nominated by the AINP, they will receive an extra 600 CRS points. This will boost their chances of being invited to submit an application for permanent residence.
A total of 1,909 Express Entry candidates have been invited by Alberta since the beginning of this year.
