Manitoba invites 360 skilled workers and international graduates in the latest EOI draw

Manitoba released the details of its recent Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw held on 15th August 2019. The draw issued 360 Letters of Advice (LAAs) to skilled workers and international graduates.
The LAAs were issued under the following three streams of the MPNP:
- Skilled workers in Manitoba
- Skilled workers overseas
- International education
Out of 360 LAAs, 32 were issued to Express Entry registered candidates. The candidates who managed to get the provincial nomination under the Express Entry were awarded major 600 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points. The rest 241 were issued to candidates registered under MPNP’s Skilled Worker in Manitoba. This immigration pathway is for the temporary international workers and international graduates living in the province and who have been offered a permanent job offer by an employer of the province.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
A total of 241 LAAs went to candidates under the Skilled Worker in the Manitoba category. The stream is open to temporary foreign workers and international student graduates who are currently working in Manitoba.
To apply under this stream, the applicant is required to create an online EOI profile. The EOI profile contains
information like education, work experience, language skills, etc. Each eligible profile will be then scored out of a total of 1,000 points and then put in the Manitoba EOI pool of applications.
The candidate with the lowest ranking invited under this stream in the 15th August draw had a CRS score of 542.
Skilled Worker Overseas
83 candidates were invited by the MPNP under the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream. The candidates were invited directly through the Strategic Recruitment Initiative of the MPNP.
The lowest-scoring candidate invited under this draw had a score of 685.
International Education Stream
The recent draw issued a total of 36 LAAs to International graduates who meet the labor market requirements of Manitoba.
The International Education Stream has three subcategories:
- Career Employment Pathway
- Student Entrepreneur Pathway
- Graduate Internship Pathway
The Manitoba province of Canada has conducted 16 invitation rounds so far in 2019 and has issued a total of 5,810 invitations, as per CIC news.
