Manitoba gives out 224 invitations in the latest Expression of Interest draw
To combat the shortage of labor caused by Canada’s aging population Manitoba is inviting candidates in a large number to apply for Canadian permanent residence. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program organized a new draw on September 25, in order to select eligible candidates. The draw witnessed 224 immigration candidates getting invited to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.
The province’s 73rd Expression of Interest (EOI) draws focused on candidates who had a profile registered under one of the three Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) pathways. The Government of Manitoba distributed the LAAs among the following the three streams in the following manner:
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba: 140
- Skilled Worker Overseas: 59
- International Education Stream: 25
According to MPNP, the province has issued 6,381 Letters of Advice (LAAs) to immigration candidates so far this year.
The Express Entry system is the backbone of Canadian immigration and is responsible for managing the pool of candidates for three of Canada’s main economic immigration categories: the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class. The candidates who receive a provincial nomination have an additional 600 points added to their CRS score. As a result, they are almost guaranteed an invitation to get a Canadian permanent residence.
