Immigration Announcement
How Can You Be Eligible For The PGP 2020

IRCC is all set to open the application process for the Parent and Grandparent Program (PGP), which will allow up to 10,000 candidates to provide sponsorship for their parents and grandparents during their immigration to Canada.
Anybody who is planning to submit an application form virtually should ensure that they satisfy all the eligibility requirements of the program. Sponsorship applications will have to be submitted to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in the period between October 13 and November 3. They will be subject to age, status, and income requirements.
Requirements
Interested candidates who are looking forward to bringing their parents or grandparents over to Canada through this PGP must be permanent residents, Canadian citizens, or status First Nations. Moreover, all PGP sponsorship applicants have to be 18 years of age or older. They should provide proof that they have the ability to provide financial support to the family member being sponsored.
Sponsors have to make it clear that they earn sufficient income to sustain all family members for whom they have to take financial responsibility. If you are interested in submitting an application, you should head on over to the IRCC website and check the amount of money need to support your chosen number of people.
IRCC considers the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) to be a key eligibility factor for this program. However, the proof of necessary income has to be submitted only after showing interest in sponsorship through the online form. The applicants who are chosen and invited to apply will have their application rejected if they do not satisfy the minimum necessary income requirement.
Interested sponsors must decide the size of their family so they can evaluate their minimum necessary income requirements accordingly.
