Happiness Rankings Across Age Groups
The cornerstone of the WHR lies in life evaluations, where respondents rate their overall life satisfaction on a scale from 0 to 10. In Canada, as well as across the G7 nations, individuals are categorized into four age groups for analysis:
The Young (Under 30 years old), Lower Middle (30 – 44 years old), Upper Middle (45 – 59 years old), and The Old (60 years old and above).
- Among the Young, Canada secures the 5th position;
- In the Lower Middle category, Canada stands at the 4th position;
- Among the Upper Middle age group, Canada shines in the 2nd position
- Even among the Elderly population, Canada maintains its 2nd position.
While countries like Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Austria precede Canada, its position remains strong and enviable.
Canada’s Resilience in Global Rankings
Comparing Canada’s WHR 2024 ranking with its 2023 U.S. News ranking reveals remarkable consistency in Canada’s favorable standings. Despite potential differences in methodologies, Canada’s 2nd place position in the WHR 2024 closely aligns with its ranking as the 2nd best country overall in the 2023 U.S. News’ Best Countries ranking.
