- Be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Receive an official invitation letter from their host in Canada, including a financial support pledge.
- Show proof of private medical insurance covering at least $100,000 for one year.
- Pass a medical exam and meet entry requirements.
