Canada issues invitations to PNP candidates who have CRS 692 during Express Entry draw 145

Canada issued invitations to 589 candidates during the draw on 29th April. The Express Entry draw required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 692. This means that the candidates with an extra 600 points from a provincial nomination had to have a human capital points score of just 92. This draw marked the minimum CRS requirement for any provincial nominee program (PNP)- specific Express Entry draw in 2020.

The April 9 draw required six points more, which means that they invited provincial nominees who had a CRS of minimum 698.All the invited candidates who received invitations during the draw had already received 600 additional CRS points when they got a provincial nomination. In fact, a provincial nomination was mandatory for the Express Entry candidates to be invited in the April 29 draw.

Why is Canadian immigration still successful?

While coronavirus is threatening to change the immigration landscape of Canada, the year is turning out great for Express Entry. More Express Entry candidates have been given invitations to apply for permanent residence during the first quarter of 2020 as compared to the first quarters of the last two years.

The Canadian government has gone off-path from the scheduled all-program draws because of the special measures that have been taken to slow down the spread of coronavirus Canada. However, that has not stopped the country from issuing the invitations.

The government of Canada organized seven Express Entry draws and invited Canadian Experience Class immigration candidates and provincial nominees.

The previous draw that was organized on April 16 saw the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score reduce to 455, the lowest score requirement of 2020. The IRCC or the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have distributed 8,389 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in April.
