Express Entry
Canada Issued 3,000 Invitations to CEC Candidates

Canada wants to invite a higher number of immigrants this year in order to compensate for the immigration losses caused by the pandemic. The country aims to welcome 401,000 newcomers this year. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has offered admission to 143,000 new permanent residents in the first half of 2021 already. To meet the target by the end of the year, Canada might have to increase the number of invitations issued every month.
IRCC has been organizing CEC-only draws for a while now- since the beginning of 2021, to be exact. CEC candidates are highly likely to already be present in the country which means that they would not have to undertake an international journey following the current restrictions. Since CEC candidates have to acquire professional experience in Canada, approximately 90% of CEC candidates are always in the country. Canada has not lifted the coronavirus-related travel restrictions yet.
Details of the draw
On August 5, Canada issued a total of 3000 invitations to eligible Express Entry candidates. These selected candidates will now have the chance to become permanent residents. They can submit their applications now. It was mandatory for the candidates to satisfy the eligibility requirements of the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and have a minimum score of 404.
As per the tie-break rule, which IRCC has to enforce irrespective of whether there was an actual tie, candidates with the minimum score or more were invited only if they registered their profiles prior to August 3rd, 2021, 05:39:26 UTC.
