Canada extending deadlines for residency applications for the COVID-19 outbreak

Furthermore, IRCC has declared its will to keep accepting applications for permanent resident and Express Entry. And the deadline for submitting biometrics has extended from 30 days to 90 days.
Time extended for applications on permanent residency
Usually, candidates in the Express Entry draw who got an invitation for permanent residency has a period of 60 days to submit all the documents. However, now, if that deadline is up, candidates can provide a legitimate explanation for the IRCC that why they couldn’t submit the necessary documents in the given period of time. IRCC now further has the ability to extend the deadline up to 90 days. Moreover, the candidates who are confirmed of permanent residency can also extend the deadline to visit Canada. All they have to do is contact IRCC through their web form.
Extension to non-permanent residents
The temporary immigrants of Canada also have the privilege of extending their stay due to Canada’s actions for Covid-19. They have to submit an online application about the extension in IRCC’s official site. It is particularly for people who want to extend their permits for visiting, working, and studying purposes.
For candidates yet to apply for residency and waiting to write their tests
People willing to submit their application for Express Entry draw or permanent resident can now find it challenging due to the outbreak. However, on the other side, people will have the time to arrange all the necessary documents for these purposes.
