British Columbia organizes the largest PNP draw since the beginning of the pandemic

Canadian provinces are working hard to keep up the immigration process.
British Columbia arranged for a new invitation round on June 30 and invited candidates from Express Entry and Skills Immigration categories to apply for a provincial nomination. The province issued a total of 314 invitations. This Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw was the largest draw to be hosted by British Columbia since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. It turned out to be the second-largest draw of 2020. British Columbia organized its largest draw in 2020 before the pandemic on March 10 when they issued 332 invitations.
Details of the draw:
British Columbia distributed 314 invitations among candidates belonging to Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC categories.
The COVID-19 pandemic forced BC to exclude certain occupations from the draw. Occupations related to tourism, retail, and hospitality were not given priority in the draw. The minimum score requirements for the draw was in the 79-100 range for the SI and EEBC categories that were taken into consideration. The Skills Immigration candidates who were given invitations to apply for a provincial nomination in this round belonged to the Skilled Worker, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled, and International Graduate categories.
The exact minimum scores were:
- SI – Skilled Worker: 98
- SI – Entry Level and Semi-Skilled: 79
- SI – International Graduate: 100
- EEBC – International Graduate: 100
- EEBC – Skilled Worker: 98
Requirements and Advantages:
Candidates have to be registered under the federal Express Entry system in British Columbia as well as the province’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) if they want to receive an invitation via the EEBC.
The BC Express Entry stream works alongside the federal government’s Express Entry system. Candidates who receive a provincial nomination get an extra 600 points added to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
