British Columbia Has released the latest PNP Draw results

Canadian provinces have had their hands full trying to maintain immigration even during the pandemic. Most of them have organized draws regularly, inviting candidates to apply for provincial nominations.

Details of the draw:

British Columbia did not let the coronavirus shutdown halt the immigration proceedings completely. The province organized a draw on July 14, 2020. They distributed 320 invitations among candidates belonging to Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skilled Immigration (SI) categories.

This latest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw proved to be significant. Candidates were given invitations via the International Graduate, Skilled Worker, and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled categories under the Skills Immigration stream.

The minimum provincial points required by candidates for the draw varied between 76 and 98. Different categories had different requirements. The minimum scores required on July 14 were:

It is compulsory for candidates to have a  federal Express Entry profile and be registered in British Columbia’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) if they want to submit their applications through the Express Entry BC stream. On the other hand, candidates who want to apply via the Skills Immigration stream have to be registered in the SIRS only.

Role of Express Entry:

The Express Entry system created by the federal government is used to maintain the permanent residence applications that are submitted via Canada’s main economic programs.

Express Entry candidates are awarded an extra 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points if they manage to secure a provincial nomination. They are almost guaranteed an invitation to apply for permanent residence.
