Canada has decided to release the details of the June 17 Alberta Express Entry stream draw. With this Alberta PNP draw Express Entry candidates in Alberta are now closer to their dream of attaining permanent residence.
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), on June 17, distributed 187 invitations among candidates considered to be eligible via the provincial Express Entry Stream. The candidates registered in the Express Entry pool had to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 303 in order to be eligible for the invitation.
What is Express Entry?
Express Entry forms the backbone of the Canadian immigration system. It is responsible for handling the applications submitted for federal immigration streams such as Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Worker Program. The system uses factors such as age, education, language proficiency, and work experience in order to determine the individual scores.
The candidates with the highest scores are given an Invitation to Apply (ITA), so they can attempt to gain Canadian permanent residence via regular Express Entry draws. Candidates can secure a provincial nomination, which would give them an advantage in the form of an additional 600 CRS points.
Canada’s response to the travel restrictions:
Alberta is currently issuing invitations to candidates within Canada only since the travel restrictions are still in place.
Candidates must have work experience in an appropriate occupation that can supplement the province’s diversification priorities and economic development.
